Alcohol Dye Colored Wood Filler & Unique Oak Wood Stain Finishes

Using Alcohol Dye Liquids in Making Colored Wood Filler on Unique Finishes As An Oak Wood Stain and Other Deep Grained Woods.

Mixed Keda alcohol wood dye into wood filler to darken oak grain with the newly colored grain filler. Keda Wood Dye was used to make this unique finish, and applied the liquid dye version to make this gorgeous golden brown stain with popping oak grains.

Coloring wood filler:
1 tablespoon Wood Filler to 1 tablespoon warm water and added 10 drops to 1/8th tsp Keda Black liquid dye

Golden Brown Stain Formula:
4 ounces Lacquer thinner (or denatured alcohol for alcohol based dye stain version)
1/8th Tsp Keda Amber Yellow Liquid Dye
10 Drops Keda Walnut Brown Liquid Dye
5 Drops Keda Crimson Red Liquid Dye

“The Bear” shares some leather dye color formula samples laid out on leather, where he targets vibrant natural colors using the liquid dyes. In Ed’s “Natural Colors” Demonstration, he will spend about an hour showing the “Natural Colors” on leather process in detail. But… after that… You will have a couple hours of “Hands On” leather coloring practice!

Colored Glue Using Liquid Dyes For A Very Nice Coloring Option – DIY Glue Color

Great and easy way to color glues for crafting ideas. Wood Dye, Wood Prep, and Popping Figured Wood Grain With The Keda Wood Dye Powder

Here is a detailed video on preparing wood for wood finishing. I tried to show a wood prep for maple wood, and a dying technique for “Popping The Grain” using a figured curly maple wood. The wood dye ratios were very concentrated in this video, and were mixed at the following dye stain ratios:

Black Wood Dye: 2 ounces warm water to 1/4th tsp of black dye powder

Blue Wood Dye: 4 Ounces rubbing alcohol (70% Isopropyl Alcohol) to 1/2 tsp of the Blue Dye Powder.

Wood was prepped with a progression sand utilizing wood specific sandpaper: 120 grit, 150 grit, 180, grit, used hot water to raise the grain (optional) let dry, then sanded with 220 grit (optional) prior to applying the wood dyes to the surface of the wood.
